John 12:26 “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.”
The world wants to be served rather than to serve. Our sinful nature demands that we be served before we become willing to do something for someone else and also demeans a servant as a nonperson, one who has lost all dignity and whose only value is in serving.
Jesus came to show us that no one who serves is, therefore, unworthy. In fact, just the opposite is true. He says a person is great who has the ability to love others by serving them.
Being a servant in no way implies inferiority. Wholesome relationships are built on our willingness to serve one another.
Jesus is our example in serving. He who made the words came to earth to serve. Finally, Jesus declares that those who serve Him will be honored by the Father.
